Culture
The Guardian is a global news organization that delivers fearless, independent journalism.
From breaking news and award-winning investigations, to in-depth coverage of technology, sports, film, culture and lifestyle, the Guardian offers a global view that deepens our audience’s understanding of America and the world.
Headquartered in New York City, we are an entirely digital operation that seeks to engage US readers by combining the Guardian's international coverage with US voices and expertise. Core coverage areas include the climate crisis, economic and racial inequality, gun violence, politics and more.
Guardian US launched in 2011 and today has bureaux in New York, Washington DC, New Orleans and Los Angeles.

Here’s some of our outstanding coverage
Over the past year, Guardian US has added more than 50 new staff members – including more than 30 journalists – and new coverage areas like investigations, US soccer and wellness.
We have been relentless in our coverage of 2024’s unpredictable presidential contest, including early coverage of the far-right Project 2025. We have been ahead of the curve in closely following misinformation around voting, systematic attempts to interfere with the democratic process, and threats of political violence in key swing states – a series we are calling the election office. This includes Trump’s plans to steal the election by seeding doubt about the integrity of the vote months before polling day, as supporters have done in Georgia.
Our industry-leading coverage of the climate crisis has also continued with a focus on extreme weather, the big oil companies and corporations that cause it, and the vulnerable communities of color who suffer most.
